LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998) applies wherever lifting equipment is used in a workplace — which includes truss, hoists, and rigging used by DJ and live event operators. Understanding your legal obligations under LOLER is not optional for professional operators working with any form of suspended or lifted equipment.

This three-hour remote training session covers: what LOLER requires and which equipment it applies to, thorough examination obligations and how to commission them, documentation and record-keeping requirements, risk assessment considerations for lifting operations, and the difference between LOLER and other relevant regulations (PUWER, MHSWR).

Delivered by remote session. Participants should have some existing familiarity with event rigging terminology, though the session begins from first principles on the regulations themselves.

  • Awareness training only — not a thorough examination qualification
  • Maximum twelve participants per session
  • Certificate of attendance provided — not a formal accreditation
